Ngulla  Community Nursery

Ngulla Community Nursery is a wholesale plant nursery, located in Casuarina, Kwinana, 40 minutes south of Perth in Western Australia. The plant nursery was launched in August 2006 to grow native plants for The Village at Wellard and generate employment and work-based training opportunities for local youth, job seekers and the community.

The Wellard joint venture partners, Peet Limited and the Department of Housing in coordination with Creating Communities Australia were instrumental in the setup of this award-winning community project. More than 40,000 native plants have been propagated and planted in the Wellard wetlands (Henley Reserve) as part of a rehabilitation program. Ngulla is a unique partnership between five local organisations - Bridging the Gap, Wellard joint venture partners Peet Limited and the Department of Housing, Town of Kwinana, Medina Aboriginal Cultural Community and BHP Billiton Nickel West.
