Village Markets at Wellard

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
The Village Markets at Wellard are on again so why not head to Pimlico Gardens on Sunday 12 June, 2016 for a morning browsing the craft and food stalls.
Popular local muso, Matt Cal, returns to provide live music from 9am to 1pm.
For the kids, Little Fairies Face Painting will be adding some fun and fantasy, with free face painting and balloon twisting.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Kwinana, the markets are a great way to get involved with your local community.

And the $1,000 travel voucher goes to...

Congratulations to Puru Shottam Bista, the lucky winner of the $1,000 travel voucher prize in The Village at Wellard’s Display Village opening passport competition.

Puru and his wife were amongst the 500 people who joined us for a morning of free family-friendly activities, games, live music and roving entertainment on Saturday 30 April 2016.

They also took the opportunity to visit the exciting range of new homes on show, with Puru getting his ‘passport’ stamped along the way.

Puru and his wife have always wanted to go on a cruise and plan to put their voucher towards a seven-day holiday on the sea.

Local childcare is on the way!

Great shops, transport, parks – and now childcare!
Life just gets better and better at The Village at Wellard.

A new childcare centre is under construction on the corner of Lambeth Circle and Charing Cross and enrolments are now open.

Operated by Maragon Early Learning Centres, the new centre is right next to the train station at Wellard and will cater for babies from eight weeks through to children of five years.

Centrally located, adjacent to the Wellard Train Station, the centre offers parents with young children the convenience of dropping their little ones off for the day before heading to work.

Featuring a purpose-built science and discovery centre and a nature playground, it will be home to 90 children across six different age-group rooms.

Community spirit shines at The Village at Wellard

Who would have thought picking up rubbish could be so much fun!

Well, for dedicated locals at The Village at Wellard, Clean Up Australia Day proved just that, the chance to get together, have some laughs and notch up some good deeds along the way.

Organiser Shannon Puig was so thrilled with her first effort to organise a Clean Up Australia Day event at The Village at Wellard that she is keen to do more.

“There were a lot of people out walking on Sunday morning while we were working, wanting to know what we were doing and offering to take part in the next one so, hopefully, we’ll have more hands next time.”

The hardy band of helpers’ scoured bushland at The Village at Wellard’s proposed future primary school site, on the corner of Brentford Parade and Lambeth Circle.

Shannon says that apart from doing something worthwhile for the environment, it was great fun and gave everyone a chance to meet new people from the local community.

The residents were among 680,000 Australians who took part in Clean Up Australia Day this year.
